The foul-mouthed occupant of the Oval Office has the audacity to demand someone else lose her job for 'horrible language.' Who does he think he's kidding?
And on Friday, the man who bragged on tape about grabbing women by the p***y whined on Twitter that comedian Samantha Bee should lose her show for her "horrible language."
"Why aren’t they firing no talent Samantha Bee for the horrible language used on her low ratings show? A total double standard but that’s O.K., we are Winning, and will be doing so for a long time to come!" he said.
He's right about one thing. There is a double standard, but it's not the one he thinks. On her show, Bee criticized Ivanka Trump for her silence on her father's barbaric immigration policies that rip children from their mothers, while sharing a picture of herself with her own child on social media.
Bee used a slur to describe Ivanka Trump, for which she has since apologized in the midst of disingenuous overhyped outrage from conservatives, including White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
Donald Trump, however, has never apologized for any of his horrible language. He hasn't apologized for his admission that he sexually assaults women. He hasn't apologized for calling President Obama a "pussy" on Twitter in 2015.
He hasn't apologized for calling immigrants "animals" — something he has done on multiple occasions. In fact, he has recently embraced the term to spite his critics, goading his supporters into chanting the word at a campaign rally in Tennessee earlier this week.
He has never apologized for suggesting, during the 2016 campaign, that "Second Amendment people" could do something about Hillary Clinton if she won the election.
He has never apologized for his torrent of gross and vulgar attacks on a number of women — calling them slobs, pigs, and dogs.
He has never apologized for degrading and dismissing black athletes who silently protest police violence and advising team owners to "get that son of a bitch off the field."
He has never apologized for referring to African nations as "shithole countries."
Trump has an extensive record of using horrible language for which he has never apologized — and yet he remains in the Oval Office.
As for Trump's feigned outrage at the word itself, that too demonstrates his own double standard. As Shareblue's Oliver Willis noted, the right-wing celebrity Ted Nugent, who has said countless vile things in his career, used that very word himself to describe Hillary Clinton.
"You probably can’t use the term ‘toxic c---’ in your magazine, but that’s what she is," he said in 1994. "Her very existence insults the spirit of individualism in this country. This bitch is nothing but a two-bit whore for Fidel Castro."
Trump invited Nugent to the White House last year. Obviously, he had no objection to Nugent's "horrible language."
Trump has a foul mouth and an even dirtier soul. But if he thinks "horrible language" is reason enough for someone to lose their job, he should be the first to go.
