Trump's top economic adviser invited an openly white supremacist man to his own birthday party at his own home, showing how deep racism permeates every layer of the Trump administration.

Top Trump economic adviser Larry Kudlow hosted white supremacist Peter Brimelow at his home for his birthday party.

After the Washington Post uncovered Brimelow’s place on the guest list, Kudlow told the paper, “If I had known this, we would never have invited him.”

This is not a believable statement.

Brimelow is the head of the VDARE Foundation, which publishes the white supremacist website VDARE, and it is what he is most well known for. VDARE is an anti-immigrant website that has served as a clearinghouse for articles written by white supremacists and other bigots.

Speaking at the white supremacist American Renaissance conference last year, Brimelow was effusive in praising Trump’s anti-immigrant stance. He said, “Hispanics do specialize in rape, particularly of children. They’re very prone to it, compared to other groups.”

He also praised conservative columnist Ann Coulter, whose bigoted and inaccurate anti-immigrant screeds have formed the basis of many of Trump’s stances.

Previously, Brimelow has said that mass immigration “risks making America an alien nation.” He also said of the 9/11 attacks, “It’s the immigration, stupid.”

Brimelow has argued that immigration laws should be changed to allow mostly whites into America. He has also published bigots like Sam Francis of the Council of Conservative Citizens, who said blacks were a “retrograde species of humanity.”

Brimelow similarly published white supremacist Jared Taylor, who’s own magazine promotes eugenics and called for “race betterment” through selective breeding.

Brimelow’s views fit right in at a White House led by Trump and that has featured figures like Steve Bannon, who promoted the racist alt-right, and Stephen Miller, who is an anti-immigrant zealot.

Trump speechwriter Darren Beattie was recently fired after it was uncovered that he spoke at a white supremacist conference.

But Beattie’s firing and Kudlow’s unbelievable response are just so much window dressing.

Racism and hate are key elements in this White House. The venom flows from Trump down to his underlings, and racial supremacy is a constant drumbeat that permeates public statements and policies.

It is impossible to separate hate and this White House from each other, and it isn’t credible when Trump team members make claims otherwise. This is who they are.
