Sarah Huckabee Sanders was forced to reveal conversations she's had with Trump over the issue.

The White House has spent weeks dodging questions about Trump’s alleged affair with porn actor Stormy Daniels. But press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was pressured into a dramatic revelation Wednesday.

Daniels is suing Trump, claiming the $130,000.00 payment she received from Trump’s attorney Michael Cohen is invalid.

And during Wednesday’s briefing, Sanders was forced to reveal conversations she’s had with Trump over the issue.

“You were asked about whether the president knew about this payment his long-time lawyer made to, rather facilitated, to Stormy Daniels,” NBC News’ Hallie Jackson said. “You said then, and again today, not that you’re aware of. Have you asked the president this question?”

“Yeah, I’ve had conversations with the president about this,” Sanders revealed. “And as I outlined earlier, that this case had already been won in arbitration, and there was no knowledge of any payments from the president. And he has denied all these allegations.”

After weeks of disciplined stonewalling, Sanders’ comments may have opened the floodgates for the story to dominate the news. And Trump’s claims about the scandal are now in the public record, where they can be scrutinized.

That’s the last thing this White House needs.
