Thousands of students walk out to protest Trump deporting their classmates

Students in Denver stage a massive walk-out in protest of Trump's termination of DACA

Following the Trump administration's decision to terminate DACA, immediate protests broke out across the country — including a massive student walk-out in Denver.

As expected, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced Tuesday morning that the Trump administration would be terminating the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

Further, the White House and the Department of Homeland Security plan to use the information that DACA recipients provided to the government as a weapon against them, employing it to hunt them down and deport them.

And as equally anticipated, immediate mass protests and demonstrations broke out all around the nation, as immigrants, activists, and allies rose up against Donald Trump’s cruel sop to his white supremacist base.

And in a particularly poignant and powerful display, students in Denver — as many as 7,000 of them, according to CBSDenver — staged a walk-out to protest this heartless decision:

The students took to the streets, chanting “Immigrants are here to stay! No justice, no peace!”

The crowds are massive and are ready to resist:

These walk-outs and protests are only the beginning.

If the Donald Trump and his team thought they could get away with such a devastating disruption to millions of lives, and the national economy, they are already seeing just how wrong they were. SaveSave SaveSave SaveSave
